Emoliente, prepared for long hours in large pots, is comforting and renowned for preventing many ailments due to the numerous plants it contains: horsetail, barley, flaxseed, boldo, and cat's claw, among others.

Ingredients:

  • Horsetail
  • Barley
  • Flaxseed
  • Boldo
  • Cat's claw
  • Other optional herbs

Preparation:

  1. In a large pot, add approximately 2 liters of water.
  2. Add the horsetail, barley, flaxseed, boldo, and cat's claw. You can also add other herbs of your choice, based on their properties and your preferences.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low.
  4. Let it simmer for about 1 to 2 hours, allowing the herbs to release their active ingredients and the flavors to blend.
  5. After the cooking time, remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  6. Filter the infusion using a strainer or a clean cloth to remove the herbal residues.
  7. Add sugar or honey according to your preferences to sweeten the drink. Stir well to dissolve.
  8. You can serve the emoliente hot in cups or glasses, ideally garnished with slices of lemon or orange.
